Conference Venue

The 2026 ICSA Applied Statistics Symposium will be hosted at George Mason University’s Mason Square campus in Arlington, Virginia.

All symposium activities will take place in the FUSE building and Van Metre Hall at George Mason University’s Mason Square campus. Specific room locations will be provided in the final program.

Transportation

The FUSE building is conveniently served by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Orange and Silver Lines. Attendees can take the Metrorail to the Virginia Square–GMU station, which is approximately one block from the FUSE building. From the station, exit toward Fairfax Drive and walk east to reach the conference venue.

A full map of the Washington Metro system is available on the WMATA website. Metro tickets and passes can be purchased at any Metrorail station using credit/debit cards or cash at fare vending machines. Attendees may also create an account with WMATA and purchase fares or passes online in advance for use during their stay.

The venue is easily accessible from Washington, DC and the surrounding region by Metro, train, and air.

From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)

By Metro (approximately 20 minutes):

1. From the airport, follow signs to the Metro station.
2. Take the Blue Line toward Largo Downtown.
3. Exit at Rosslyn Metro Station.
4. At Rosslyn, go to the lower platform and transfer to the Orange or Silver Line toward Vienna / Ashburn.
5. Exit at Virginia Square–GMU Metro station.
6. The FUSE building is a short walk from the station.

By Taxi or Rideshare (Uber or Lyft):
Approximately 15–20 minutes, depending on traffic.

From Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)

By Metro (approximately 50 minutes):

1. Follow signs to the Silver Line Metro station at Dulles Airport.
2. Take the Silver Line eastbound toward Largo Downtown.
3. Exit at Virginia Square–GMU Metro station.
4. Walk to the FUSE building.

By Taxi or Rideshare (Uber or Lyft):
Approximately 30–50 minutes, depending on traffic.

From Union Station (Washington, DC)

Union Station serves Amtrak, MARC, and VRE rail services and is a common arrival point for attendees traveling by train.

By Metro (approximately 25 minutes):

1. From Union Station, enter the Metro Red Line.
2. Take the Red Line toward Shady Grove.
3. Exit at Metro Center station.
4. Follow signs to transfer to the Orange or Silver Line.
5. Take the Orange or Silver Line westbound toward Vienna / Ashburn.
6. Exit at Virginia Square–GMU Metro station.
7. Walk to the FUSE building.

By Taxi or Rideshare (Uber or Lyft):
Approximately 15–25 minutes, depending on traffic.

Parking at Mason Square

Visitor parking is available in the Van Metre Hall parking garage at the posted hourly rate. Faculty, staff, and students may purchase parking permits that will allow access to either the Vernon Smith parking garage (3434 Washington Blvd.) or the Van Metre Hall parking garage.
